Martha Sue (Grant) Tyler

Martha Sue (Grant) Tyler, age 67 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Friday, September 26, 2014. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4th at the Nazarene Church of Konawa.  Rev. Wesley Martin will officiate. Martha was born on June 8, 1947 in Konawa to Jessie (Sumpter) and Tollie Grant.  She graduated from Konawa in 1967.  She married Ronnie Tyler and was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Konawa.  Martha worked at New Horizon Nursing Home in Konawa for fifteen years as the Activity Director.  When Konawa received its first ambulance in 1983, Martha was their first EMS emergency medical technician. She retired twenty years later and always loved her community and helping others. She is survived by one son, Kevin Grant of the home; two daughters, Susie and Rickey Stokes of the home, and  Angie and Rick Brogdon of Konawa; one sister, Barbara and Ozell Jones of Sasakwa; one sister-in-law, Jessie Grant; and six grandchildren, Daphne Grant, Rehea Moore, Jacklyn Grant, Travis Harjo, Tyler Harjo,and  Pete Newton Stokes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Tollie Grant; two brothers, James Grant and Tollie Newton Grant, Jr. Funeral Information: October 4, 2014, 1:00 PM Memorial Service at the Konawa Nazarene Church.
