Martha Ann Fairbanks, long-time Earlsboro resident, passed away Thursday, April 21st, 2022, at the age of 81, peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
She was born June 24, 1940 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Reed Frank and Lucy Coker Lena. She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1959. She worked various jobs in Wewoka during high school and beyond before becoming a homemaker.
Martha married Terry Wayne Fairbanks on February 26, 1985 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. They lived in Wewoka before relocating to Tecumseh, Oklahoma. After several years, they moved to Earlsboro where they made their home. She worked for Earlsboro Public Schools as a cook for many years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking throughout her life as well as fishing, gardening, beadwork, and spending time with her loved one outdoors.
Martha was proceeded in death by her parents, Reed Frank Lena and Lucy Coker Lena; two brothers, Douglas (Cotcha) Lena and Jimmy Lena Sr; her sisters, Betty Lou Lena, Ruby Ann Coffman, and Juanita Chupco, and one son, Russell Dewayne Wood. She is survived by her children, Tina Denise Haddad, Randolph Wood II, Stacy Renee Haddad, Andrea Etta Wood-Hall, Terra Dean Harrison and husband Shonts Harrison of Glenpool and granddaughter of the home, Hannah Rylee Wood. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other loved ones as well as her two sisters, Mary-Louise Factor and Sylvia Taylor.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home. There will a wake service on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church with Curtis Kinney officiating and burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Casket bearers will be J Carroll (Bim) Lena, Jimmy (Bo) Lena, Jr., Terry Reed, Lance Taylor, Julius Price and Kenny Chambers and Honorary bearers will be, Randolph Wood II and Jimmy Taylor.
Funeral arrangement are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
