Marta Casteel

Former Seminole resident Marta Casteel (Lemons) the daughter of retired Seminole High School teacher, Kay Lemons and step-father, retired Maud High School coach, George Lemons, succumbed to injuries of an auto accident at OU Medical Center in OKC on August 7, 2006. Marta was born in Bogota, Columbia on July 13, 1957. rnrnShe attended Seminole High School through her graduate year of 1975 but lived all of her adult life in Norman Oklahoma. She enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the OU community as a freelance artist and she also loved to sing and played guitar. Marta was overjoyed to see her only daughter graduate from OU this past spring. She also loved the companionship of her beloved cat Henry. Marta's mind and body were long burdened by mental illness, but her spirit always found wonderful expression through her love of art and music which brought her great happiness when she shared them with her friends and family. rnrnShe is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Casteel who resides in OKC, her mother and step-father who reside in Tulsa, Ok, as well as family members, Meredith Lynn, sister, of Tulsa, Ok, Steve Lemons, brother, of Helena, Ok, Lisa Elrod, sister, of Tulsa, Ok, Laura Roberson, sister, of Tulsa, Ok, Stephanie Lemons, sister, of Tulsa, Ok, Sean Lemons, brother, of Timenium, MD, and Barbara Lemons, sister, of OKC. rnrnThe family has chosen Swearingen Funeral Home to handle the cremation and a memorial service is pending in Norman, Ok later this month.rn Funeral Information: August 12, 2006, 2:00 AM
