Marshalene "Cookie" Harjo

Marshalene “Cookie” Harjo, 66, Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed way Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on October 26, 1952 to William Moses Yeager and Juanita (Mitchell) Yeager. She married Jerry Harjo in September of 1974 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Marshalene graduated from high school and attended Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech and received her certification in General Office Education. She later worked as a store manager until her retirement. She enjoyed watching softball games and OU Sooner Football games. She was a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, the Eufaula Band, Bird Clan. Marshalene is survived by her step-son; Patrick Harjo of Sasakwa, Oklahoma and her step-daughters; Sheryl Womack of Konawa, Oklahoma, Melissa Johnson of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Jessica Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, brothers; William Yeager and wife Patricia of Seminole, Oklahoma and Foster Yeager of Wewoka, Oklahoma, nieces; Tiffany Yeager and husband Brian Palmer, Stephaney Lambert and husband Chad of Seminole, Oklahoma, Leslie Yeager of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Toni Birmingham and husband Gary of San Antonio, Texas and nephew Adam Yeager and wife Miranda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, five great nieces and eleven great nephews and a host of softball players who she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Juanita Yeager, brother Emery Yeager and nephew Jeffery Yeager. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Bill Hobia officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Casket bearers will be Darius Yeager, Keifer Welch, Christopher Lance Fleming, Jr., Cyrus Fleming, Richard Fleming and Gabriel Lambert. Honorary bearers will be Barney Mitchell, Charles Mitchell, Larry Deere, Lucas Shuler, Leroy Mitchell and Houston Yeager.
