Marsha Ann (Mills) Matthews

Marsha Ann (Mills) Matthews, age 59, and a resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away at Alliance Health Hospital in Seminole on September 24, 2017.  A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.  Cremation burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. Marsha was born October 19, 1957 in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Joe Marshall Mills and Billie (Newsom) Mills, and spent many years in Los Angeles, California, and also lived several years in Louisiana.  She was a Drum Majorette for Seminole High School and graduated Seminole High School in 1975.  She also attended Kansas University. Marsha loved water skiing at Wewoka Lake, playing the piano and dancing.  Her children and grandchildren were her passion.  She had her first Christmas with her grandchildren in 2016, which was a highlight of her life. She also loved cats and dogs, and had rescued many pets. She is survived by her husband, Steve Matthews of the home, in Seminole, Oklahoma; one son, William “Will” Joseph Frank of Sulphur, Louisiana; one daughter, Heather Michelle (Cone) Dorantes and husband, Juan of Savannah, Texas; one brother, Roger Marshall Mills and wife, Lisa of Seminole, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Isabel and Gabriela Dorantes; several cousins and other family and many friends who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Charles Mills.
