Marion Staring

September 11, 1937 — February 11, 2017

Marion "Dale" Staring, age 79 passed away from this life Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Rev. Allen Wood will officiate. Serving as casket bearers are: Edward Lee Maxwell, Lloyd Parks, Steve Parks, Keith Maxwell, J.L. Maxwell and Eddie Lemmings. Dale was born September 11, 1937 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to William Henry Staring and Becca Adelia (Taylor) Staring.  He attended Seminole Jr. College, and he was a E4 Specialist in the U. S. Army, 9th Infantry Division.  He married Dorothy Mae Maxwell July 2, 1960 in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Dale was a retired Quality Control Technician and a Jet Engine Mechanic for Tinker Air Force Base.  Dale loved to fish, collect guns, and build things in his workshop.  His grandchildren believed that "he could fix anything". He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mae Staring of the home; two sons, Kevin Staring and wife, Candy of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Roger Staring and wife, Tanya of McLoud, Oklahoma; two daughters, Tammera Franks and husband, Randy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Beverly Evans and husband, Danny Sr. of Harrah, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Scott Staring, Amber Staring, Kael Staring, Conner Akins, Chad Thomas, Justin Franks, Jennifer McGaha, Michelle Franks, Danny Evans, Jr., Ashley Rampey, and Pamela Murdock; and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Becca Staring; two brothers, Billy Mark Staring and Danny Dean Staring. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
