Marilyn R. (Slagle) Permetter, 63 year old Earlsboro, Oklahoma resident passed from this life Sunday, November 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 26, 1955 in Hobbs, New Mexico to parents Peggy R. (Wright) Lindsay and Cecil B. Slagle. Marilyn married John Earl Permetter, Sr. in El Reno, Oklahoma. They have been together for 46 years. Marilyn retired from Earlsboro Public Schools after 32 years. She worked in several different capacities from custodian to helping in the cafeteria always happy to help where she was needed. Marilyn loved to watch “Family Feud”, “The Cooking Channel”, “OU Sports”, and “Thunder Basketball” on her television. She also enjoyed doing dot to dot books and brainteaser games and listening to soul music. She was very generous, Marilyn loved helping others especially the students and staff of Earlsboro High School. She was a big fan of history and loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 46 years John Earl Permetter, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Stacie Permetter of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; one sister, Claudia Sperry and her husband Gerald of Yukon, Oklahoma; and one granddaughter who she loved to spoil, Raven Lynn McClain of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Marilyn is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Peggy Lindsay and Cecil B. Slagle, by one sister Gail Magness, by one brother Wayne Slagle, by two sons, Tommy Slagle and Christopher Permetter and by one granddaughter Jordan Permetter. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. James K. Grayson, Sr. officiating the service. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery in Dale, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Kyle Winrow, Keyon Permetter, Dominic Permetter, John E. Permetter Jr., Russell Parsons and Gary Don Permetter. Honorary Bearers will be: Dante Hall, Blake Jones, Ryan Friend and Jimmy Johnson. Funeral services have been entrusted to Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
