Marie Vaughan

Laura “Marie” Vaughan, 84 year-old lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Wewoka Healthcare Center in Wewoka, Oklahoma.  She was born July 17, 1928 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents Ambrose Vaughan and Ida Mae (Lankford) Vaughan. Marie was raised in the Seminole area where her mother worked for “Granny Fern’s Restaurant,” for many years, and Marie worked as a sales clerk. Marie was of the Baptist faith and had through the years befriended many at Seminole Public Schools near where she had lived on Timmons Street. Marie never married and is survived by nieces, nephews and a number of friends. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Ida Mae Vaughan, and by one brother, Clyde William Vaughan. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud where she was laid to rest next to her parents.
