Marie Jesse , age 87 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at her home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma on April 11, 2022 under Loving Care Hospice.
A Wake service will be held 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15th at the Chapel, and burial will follow at High Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastors, Mitch Taylor and Bill “Skip” Foster will officiate, and casket bearers are Ronnie Burgess, Sam Wheeler, Tommie Frazier, Josh Punka, Austin Jesse, and Dale Jesse. Honorary bearers are the Brothers of the Faith Connection Church of Shawnee and of High Springs Baptist Church of Konawa.
Marie was born December 4, 1934 in Ada, Oklahoma to Willie Jesse and Eliza (Burgess) Jesse. Even though Marie never married nor had children of her own, she enjoyed helping raise a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members. She was an assembly line worker for L. S. Bearings manufacturing plant, and she was a member of the Faith Connection Church of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Marie loved sewing and reading, and she was a faithful prayer warrior who loved her church and church family. She always had a pleasant smile for those who had the fortune of meeting her.
She is survived by one brother, Larry Jesse of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and three sisters, Sally Frazier of Konawa, Oklahoma, Linda B. Campbell and husband, Pastor John Campbell of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Brenda Dailey of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Eliza Jesse; one brother, Bryant Jesse; and two sisters, Juanita Baughn, and Katherine Jones.
