Marie Lillian Clingerman, 90 year old former Wewoka, Oklahoma resident, passed away on April 15, 2018 in Kingston, Oklahoma. Marie was born December 18, 1927 in Braintree, Massachusetts to John B. Hawes and Adeline M. Pope. She was raised by her grandparents Robert A. and Phoebe Hawes. Marie worked as a secretary for the Texas Medical Association and Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. She was also an artist, writer and musician. She was past president of Trinity Valley Christian Writers. She played piano for Pioneer Nursing home in Seminole, Oklahoma and had her own nursing home ministry in Richland Hills, Texas for many years. Marie married Richard Grant Clingerman on August 29, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio. He passed away on January 2, 1997. Marie loved sewing , painting and traveling. Marie is survived by her son; James Richard Clingerman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughters; Joy Marie Bernhardt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Janice Lee Wakefield of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Judith Fern Linder of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, brother; Dr. John B. Hawes of Orlando, Florida and sisters; Dr. Dorothy M. Kipp of Hopkinsvill, Kentucky and Eleanor Eveleyn Gale of Washington State, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, son Jack Hawes Clingerman (October 18, 1956) and brother Donald Melvin Hawes.
