Margie Lorene Walker, 69, longtime Seminole resident went be with the lord, Sunday September 25, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Margie was one of 12 children born to Bob and Dorothy (Bates) Smith. Margie was born November 6, 1941 in Wann, Oklahoma. Margie grew up in the Wann and Copan, Oklahoma areas and graduated from Copan High School, near Wann, Oklahoma. She later worked in nearby Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the T G & Y variety store for over 10 years, during this time period she met Les Walker; they were married in Bartlesville on June 17, 1962. Margie and Les moved to Seminole from Ponca City, Oklahoma and she worked locally at Adams True-Value Hardware Store and Hammons Men’s Wear and later worked as a secretary for Arkla Gas Co. in Seminole and Ada for over 10 years retiring in 1997. She was active in the Seminole Hospital Ladies Auxiliary serving as a “ Pink Lady”, a member of the First Baptist Church and Seminole Lions Club. Margie loved to travel, read and sew and was a great seamstress. She loved to cook for her family and spend time with them and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. Margie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Les Walker of the home in Seminole, one son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Latresa Walker of Seminole, Oklahoma, three daughters and son-in-laws, Janice and Randy Gray of Wakefield, Kansas, Kathy and Carl Mouser of McLoud, Oklahoma and Stacy and Patrick Marble of Chandler, Oklahoma. Five sisters May Landrum of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Coleen Fout of Shady Point, Oklahoma, Barb and Gary Owen of Dewey, Oklahoma, Ruth Clopp of Dewey, Oklahoma and Wanda Miller of Caney, Kansas also survive her. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Thomas Gray, Tina Haworth, Steven Gray, Timothy Walker, Jacquelene Gray, Joshua Mouser, Ryan Mouser, Elizabeth Marble, and Zane Marble along with six great-grandchildren; Autumn, Alexander, Esther, Eddie, Pheobe and Chloe. Her parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded Margie in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with burial in the Masham Cemetery north of Pawnee, Oklahoma. Rev. Marvin Kehl and Matt Pollock will officiate at the services. Casket bearers will be Chuck Smith, John Smith, Chris Clopp, Clay Smith, Johnny Fout and Tim Smith.
