Margaret Florene Williams, 89, longtime Seminole resident, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Florene was born September 6, 1922 in Norman, Oklahoma to William A. and Stella (Brown) Hill. Florene grew up in Norman where she graduated from Norman High School in 1940; she was an honor student and belonged to State Honor Society, National Honor Society, Latin Club and Science Club. Following 2 years at Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she completed a 3-year degree in two years, she worked at various companies in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Florene retired from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma after working 15 years in the Administration Office. On September 6, 1942 (her birthday) she married Robert Lee Williams of Norman, Oklahoma. Bob was the husband she always referred to as “ close to perfect” and with whom she celebrated 62 anniversaries. Together Florene and Robert had two children Gerald Williams and his wife Jean of Cromwell, Oklahoma and Cathy Nimmo and her husband Stephen of Norman, Oklahoma; they have remained loving and devoted children their entire lives. Four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive her. Florene has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma since August 1988. She was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Private Family Services were planned for Mrs. Williams.
