Margaret Alice (Harjo) Tiger

Margaret Alice (Harjo) Tiger, age 77 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away from this life at her home on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Margaret was born on March 7, 1936 in Vamoosa, Oklahoma to Jonah Harjo and Eliza (Cully) Harjo.  She married Jackson Tiger and was a member of the Bird Creek Baptist Church. A wake service is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 31st at Bird Creek Baptist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  (Margaret will be carried from the funeral home to the church on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.)  Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1st at Bird Creek Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the Cully-Harjo Cemetery (across from Vamoosa Cemetery).  Rev. Jimsey Harjo will officiate.  Pallbearers are Jack Tiger, Sr., Christopher Leetka, William Leetka, Lymon Yargee, Jr., Wesley Yargee, and Jack Tiger, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Christine Leetka and husband, Robert of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one brother, Jonah Harjo, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonah and Eliza Harjo; her husband, Jackson Tiger; one son, David Tiger Aguilar; one daughter, Deanna Yargee; two brothers and two sisters; and one grandson, Timothy Dean Leetka.        Funeral Information: August 1, 2013, 11:00 AM Funeral Service at Bird Creek Baptist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa located at 217 N.
