Marcia Ann Burris

Marcia Ann Burris, longtime Seminole resident, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, in Wichita, Kansas.  Marcia was born on December 14, 1959, to Buddy Lorenzo and Irene (Williams) Burris.  She was a graduate of Seminole High School.

Marcia enjoyed spending time with her family most of all.  She liked dancing, puzzles and going for walks.  She was an outgoing people person and brought light into a room when she entered.  Marcia had a way of making people smile.  She was kindhearted and cared about people.

Marcia is survived by two sons, Demetrese Burris of Seminole, OK and Dewayne Burris of Seminole, OK; five brothers, Willie Burris, Bob Burris, Michael Burris, Wallace Burris and Alonzo Burris; two sisters, Rose Burris and Yolanda Black; five grandchildren, Tatum Burris, Dietra Miller, Olyve Burris, Kylee Whisenhunt and Kendrick Whisenhunt and many other family and friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Deitra Burris; two sisters, Bertha Bennett and Patsy Colbert; two brothers, Kenneth Crooms and Bud Burris.

Private burial will be at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, OK.  Memorial services will be held at at later date.

Casket bearers will be Jay Hartfield, Dewayne Burris, Elon Metcalf, Durrell Burris, Michael Burris and Rodney Bennett.

Honorary casket bearers will be Demetrese Burris, Michael Burris, Bob Burris and Doug Burris.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
