Mamie Bernice (Main) Hill, 87 year-old long time Seminole resident passed from this life Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born December 17, 1919 south of Lincoln County in Oklahoma to parents Cleve Main and Lou (Knight) Main. Mamie was raised at Strothers and attended Strothers School, latter her family moved to Cromwell where her parents were in the grocery business. Mamie was the youngest of five children.rnrnMamie married Quinton R. Simon and they had two sons, Donald and Arnold Simon. She later married Raymond G. Hill and they had two daughters, Brenda Hill and Glenda Hill.rnrnBefore Mamie and her husband Raymond retired they had owned and operated many businesses in Seminole. Together they owned and operated the Bus Station, two grocery stores; Western Union and Mistletoe express businesses. Mamie was always known for her humor, she loved to tell jokes to anyone who knew her loved her quick wit. She had also been a longtime member of Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole.rnrnMamie leaves to cherish her memory one son, Donald and his wife Dottie Simon of Golden Valley, Arizona, two daughters, Brenda Hill of Seminole, Oklahoma and Glenda and her husband Rod Britt of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Six grandchildren also survive, Don Simon, Renita Simon Walker, Mark Simon all of Las Vegas, Nevada, Taylor Britt and Scotlyn Britt both of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Other survivors include four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.rnrnMamie is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Cleve Main and Lou Main; two sisters, Pearl Grigg and Mary Strand and by one grandson.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wenesday, November 14, 2007 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.
