Malvin Dorsey

Malvin E. Dorsey, 58 year-old, Oklahoma City resident and former Seminole County resident passed from this life Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Oklahoma City.  He was born September 7, 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents William Dorsey, Sr. and Mary (Harjo) Dorsey. Malvin graduated from Williamsburg, Kansas High School.  He was also a proud member of the Muscogee Creek Nation. Malvin married Tammy Hobbs on August 23, 2011 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  He worked for the Sonic Corporation’s Maintenance group until be became ill. Survivors include his wife, Tammy (Hobbs) Dorsey of the home; his mother, Mary (Harjo) Dorsey-Wood of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two sons, Travis Dorsey of Lawton, Oklahoma, Vincent Dorsey of Norman, Oklahoma and one step-son, Shane Hobbs of Arkansas; two daughters, Tonya Luna of Oklahoma City, Sonja Carr of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Steve Dorsey of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Donald Dorsey of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Anthony Slinker of Oklahoma City, Michael Wood of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three sisters, Julia Ned of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Karen Slinker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Teresa Riley of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. A wake service will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Houston Tiger, Abe Jackson, Thomas Little and Michael Wood officiating the service.  Interment will follow at the Hawkins Family Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be, Nathan Dorsey, Dylan Dorsey, Octavio Luna, Trey Dorsey, Sonny Dorsey and Anthony Eckles. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
