Lydia Lynn Mitchell

Lydia Lynn Mitchell, 41 year old lifelong Seminole County, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Monday, September 5, 2016 at her home.  Lydia was born March 16, 1975 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, Martin Lee “Chief” Mitchell, Jr. and Idalena (Larney) Mitchell. Lydia graduated from Strother High School in 1993 and she worked as a CNA – Certified Nurse’s Aide at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole and at the Prague Nursing Home until she was diagnosed with a severe heart condition about eight years ago.  She continued her education attending classes at Seminole State College where she was currently a freshman. Lydia was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (the Mekusukey Band).  She was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Survivors include her mother, Idalena Warden and her step-father, Alex Warden.  Four sons, Brian Q. Mitchell, Mark Washington, Jr., Clifford Don Mitchell, Cornell Lee Mitchell and one daughter, Annette Maelynn Mitchell, all of the home in Seminole.  Three brothers, Duane Cornell Ataddlety, Jr. of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Christopher Don Attaddlety of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Brian Keith Mitchell of Seminole, Oklahoma.  Two sisters, Annette Ataddlety of Seminole, Oklahoma, Memory Mae Mitchell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a host of other family and dear friends. Lydia is preceded in death by her father, Martin “Chief” Mitchell, Jr. who died in 2002.  She is also preceded in death by one infant child, Baby Mitchell. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Winston Manning will officiate the service. Honorary Bearers will be: (Nephews) Michael Duane Mitchell, Anthony Tyler Barber, Nathanel Barber, Jacob Lee Ataddlety, Derrek Brian Mitchell, (Nieces) Malinda Lenae Mitchell, Tia Michelle Mitchell, and Mileena Rae Ataddlety.
