Funeral services for Ada resident Luther Lee Jenkins will be held Friday, February 22, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Hershel Davis and O'dell Vanderburg officiating.rnrnBurial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada with services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.rnrnMr. Jenkins passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 at Ada Retirement Center at the age of 79.rnrnHe was born February 27, 1928 in Ada to Millard Oliver Jenkins & Rose Lee (Collins) Jenkins.rnrnMr. Jenkins enlisted in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge.rnHe married Rose Lee (Maxwell) on Sept. 14, 1947 in Ada, OK.rnrnThey resided in California for over 30 years. rnrnHe was a machinist at American Can Company in Oakland and retired from there in 1983.rnrnUpon retirement he and his wife returned to Oklahoma where he lived out his dream of owning property and raising cattle.rnrnHe is survived by his wife, Rose Lee (Maxwell) Jenkins of the home; rndaughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Elaine Dryburg, David Jacobs, Candice & Andrew Nani; rnWarnette & Tom Conaway, Amanda & Kermit Walker, Brittney Hendricks, Wyatt & Austin Walker, Trinette Conaway & Carlos Parker, Izabella, Savanna & Amanda N. Conaway;rnHelen Jenkins & April Murphy; rnMarie Jenkins, Robert Phillips and Rosie Jenkins;rnone brother, Doris Jenkins and one sister, Wynona Chambers.rnrnHe was preceded in death by his parents.
