Lucy Hayes

Lucy Ima Jean Hayes, 79 year-old Shawnee, Oklahoma resident and former Seminole County resident passed from this life Friday, July 5, 2013 at her home in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  She was born January 23, 1934 in Konawa, Oklahoma to parents John Oliver Mcbroom and Annie Ruth (Gentry) Mcbroom. Lucy married Charlie Hayes on February 5, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  They were married for almost 46 years.  Sadly Charlie preceded her in death on September 12, 1995.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Ruth (Gentry) Mcbroom and by two brothers, Ed and Orion Mcbroom.  Three sisters, Louise, Grace and Ruth, also preceded Lucy in death. Lucy was of the Baptist faith and was a home health care provider and also loved to take care of her family. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Karen Hohuliack of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Diane Sholler of Indio, California and Marilyn Rosales of Salten City, California.  One sister, Cumi Kirkman of Phoenix, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, Anita Hayes, Tonya Partin, Ronda Mejia, Tammy Belknap, Jan Burkett, Fred Sholler, Charlie Sholler and Stephen Sholler.  7 great-grandchildren, Diana Flores, Irma Sanchez, Tina Ford, Stacy Mendoza, Olivia Benitez, Dennis Burkett Jr., Cody Burkett and by 8 great-great-grandchildren Scarlett & Garry Jacob, Mika, Mya, Austin, Deangelo, Felicity and Laly. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Ray Wade officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be, Diana Flores, Irma Sanchez, Anita Hayes, Tonya Partin, Tomas Sanchez and Paul Austin. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
