Lucille Grace (Williams) Houck, 79 year-old, lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Solara Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born November 18, 1931 in Seminole to parents Ernest and Grace (Phillips) Williams. Lucille attended Mountain View School in rural Seminole County. She married Elvin Houck on May 29, 1948 in Seminole where they raised their family. At the age of 54 Lucille went and got her GED. She was proud she had finished School. Later in life Lucille worked at Wal-Mart as a door greeter and in the greeting card department. She always loved helping someone find a card. She also volunteered as a Foster Grandparent at Seminole Middle School and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved Wednesday’s when she would take her great-grandchildren to the library and would also visit with others who were there. Lucille had a cockatiel named “Birdie” and he always let her know when someone came into the yard. She was an active member of First Missionary Church for many years. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; Carolyn and Tom Castle of Seminole, Oklahoma, Joyce and James Brinsfield of Seminole, Oklahoma and Patsy Kouhdari of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diane Houck of Seminole, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Tommie Louise Ingram of Ottawa, Kansas; one sister-in-law, Alpha Marshall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends, many she thought of as her own children. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvin Monroe Houck (Feb. 1995); one brother, Leroy Williams; one great-grandchild, Kalli Brinsfield (2000); and by one son-in-law, Abbas Kouhdari (1999). Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole.
