Lucille Gist

Lucille Mae (Evans) Gist, 83 year old, long time Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Thursday, January 11, 2018.  She was born November 6, 1934 in Seminole to parents Everett Evans and Ruby Mae (Butner) Evans. Lucille graduated from Varnum High School in 1952.  On April 11, 1953 Lucille married Robert L. Gist Sr. in Seminole, Oklahoma. Lucille was a housewife, loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved her family with everything she had.  She was also a part of the Varnum Busy Bees, she loved to travel and was a member of Glad Tidings Church. Lucille leaves to cherish her memory 1 son, Rickey Gist and his wife Sheila of Seminole, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Becky Inman of Seminole, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Raymond Evans and his wife Georgia Lee of Arlington, Texas, Junior Evans and his wife Caroline of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister, Grace Hargis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; she also leaves to cherish her memory a host of other family and dear friends. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Everett Evans and Ruby Mae (Butler) Evans; by her husband Robert L. Gist, Sr. who died on January 30, 2007; by 2 sons, Randy Gist and Robert L. Gist, Jr.; by 1 brother, Glen Evans, by 3 sisters, Betty Jo Best, Margret Ruth Schroder and Helen Adams; and by one granddaughter, Patty Gist; by 1 son-in-law, Donald Inman who died December 27, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor James Jackson officiating and assisted by Bro. Doyle Long.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery where Lucille will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert L. Gist, Sr. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
