Loma ?Lucille? (Hopkins) Hines Darr, 87 year-old life long Seminole resident passed from this life Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Seminole Estates Care Center. She was born March 9, 1920 in Healdton, Oklahoma to parents West Hopkins and Cassie Mae (Webb) Hopkins. Lucille moved to Seminole from Healdton with her parents when she was 11 years old traveling in a covered wagon. She told the story that when they reached Maud her father had to lead the team of horses through the town because they were spooked by the sound of the steam engines.rnrnLucille graduated from Seminole High School and had worked several years cooking at the Seminole Public Schools cafeteria. She later became the dietician at the old Seminole Hospital and worked there until her retirement in 1982. Lucille was a longtime member of the Freewill Baptist Church serving as church secretary and she was also in the Women?s Auxiliary at the church.rnrnLucille married Benny S. Hines in March of 1960 in Durant, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1979. She later married Edwin L. ?Ed? Darr on August 18, 1983 in Seminole. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2001.rnrnLucille leaves to cherish her memory one son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Gloria Ritchie of San Francisco, California. One daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Carroll Lowe of Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnFive grandchildren: Steve and his wife Brenda Snow of Gravette, Arkansas; James and his wife Joy Bradley of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Raymond Ritchie of Fort Worth, Texas; Terri and his wife Terry Powell of Sacramento, California; and Melody and her husband Rinehart Wilke of Seminole, Florida.rnrnOther survivors include 11 great-grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Including special friend George Fain of Seminole, Oklahoma and her special friend and provider, Amanda Pierce of Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnAs well as a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnLucille is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson, Daniel Bradley who died in April of 1992.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2007 at the Historic Strothers Chapel, located in the center of Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. Her longtime friend and minister Rev.
