Lori Kay (Burgess) Millican, age 45, of Konawa, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007, at Carl Albert Indian Health Center in Ada. rnrnShe was born on January 12, 1962 in Wewoka to Bobby Burgess and Ellen (Larney) Burgess. rnLori graduated from Konawa High School where she was active in the band. She later graduated from East Central University in Ada with a Bachelors Degree in Business. While at ECU, Lori was in the exchange student program and was in the ECU Band.rnLori was employed with the Chickasaw Nation for over 13 years as a Procurement Specialist.rnrnOn November 5, 1999 she married John Millican in Ada.rnShe was a faithful, devout member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Konawa.rnrnShe is survived by her husband, John Millican of the home; her parents, Bobby Burgess & Ellen (Larney) Burgess of Konawa;rnthree step daughters, Rachael Millican, Kelly Elaine Millican and Jennifer Meagan Millican; rntwo sisters, Cora Osborne and her husband Jackie of Konawa and Barbara West and her husband Frank of Tecumseh; rnone brother, Ricky Burgess and his wife Sherry of Konawa;rn10 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. rn rnShe was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Burgess.rnrnWake services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.rnrnFuneral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Bros. Dennis Traxler, Kellos Walker and Ed George officiating. rnrnServing as casket bearers will be Christopher Baker, Franklin West, Michael Burgess, Jason Burgess, Billy Archer and Johnny Osborne. Honorary bearers will be Ricky Burgess, Jr., Brandon West, Madden West, Dale Archer, Camron Archer, David Hamilton and members of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.rnrnBurial will follow at the Burgess Family Cemetery.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
