Graveside Services for Lorene Mercer, 90 year-old Seminole resident, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2008 at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Chris Stinnett will officiate the service.rnrnLorene passed from this life Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born December 8, 1917 in Lamar, Oklahoma to parents Elena (Thompson) Cox and George Cox. She married William Claud Jackson and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1947. She later moved to Seminole 18 years ago from Elk City, Oklahoma.rnrnLorene had worked as a Supervisor for Southwestern Bell until her retirement. She was also a member of the Seminole Church of Christ.rnrnSurvivors include two sons, Dan Jackson of Holdenville, Oklahoma and Lee Cox of Pampa, Texas. One stepson, Wendell Mercer of Littleton, Colorado. Also surviving are two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnCasket bearers will be: Gary Lane, Roger Lane, Teddy Tedford, Justin Murrell, Garland Wright and David Haskins.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home ?
