Loren Charles Simpson

Loren Charles Simpson, 89 year old, former Seminole and Meeker resident passed from this life on July 9, 2014 at the Norman Veteran’s Center.  He was born September 1, 1924 in Cromwell, Oklahoma to parents, Charlie and Rosa (Jardon) Simpson. Mr. Simpson went on to serve in the United States Army during World War II where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  He later went on to be a contract welder. Mr. Simpson married Glenna Sue Leard on November 26, 1946 in Independence, Kansas.  She preceded him in death on November 20, 2004 after 58 years of marriage.  Mr. Simpson is also preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Rosa Simpson, by one son, Richard Simpson, and by two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one son, Larry Simpson of Norman, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, Jennifer Hall of Denver, Colorado, Alan Simpson of Noble, Oklahoma, Scott Simpson of Noble, Oklahoma, Paul Simpson of Biloxi, Mississippi, Laura Simpson of Little Rock, Arkansas; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
