Lona Canada, former Seminole resident passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at Binger, Oklahoma she was 84 years old. Mrs. Canada was born June 13, 1926 on the North Canadian River in a tent to parents John Thomas and Annie Ettie (Leavitt) Morrison. She was 13 of 19 children. Mrs. Canada married Charles Canada on December 27, 1958 at Tulsa, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death July 28, 2010. Lona and her husband Charles moved back to Oklahoma from Kansas City, Kansas. Mrs. Canada graduated from Centerview High School, located south of Prague, Oklahoma as the class salutatorian then she further extended her education in Business School. Lona was baptized at the age of 16 at the Highway Baptist Church of Little, Oklahoma and latter became a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker too. Mrs. Canada is survived by son; John E. Canada of Shawnee, Kansas, daughter; Mabel A. Canada of Shawnee, Kansas and a son George Richard Bays of Ontario, California. Mrs. Canada was preceded in death by her husband Charles Canada, July 28, 2010, and by all of her brothers and sisters. Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton, Oklahoma with Bob Peterson officiating.
