Lois Louise Smith, 89, longtime Seminole resident, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lois was born August 25, 1927 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Rufus Truman Campbell and Sarah Jane Gayler. She attended school at Ong, Oklahoma for 4 ½ years and latter she attended Bowlegs Public Schools. Lois was a homemaker and worked for 8 years at Tinker Air Force Base, Lillian Russell and Wrangler, she was a member of the Assembly of God in Bowlegs, Oklahoma, and Women’s Missionary Group. She married Lindel Frances Smith on June 26, 1982 at the Bowlegs Assembly of God, he preceded her in death on February 27, 2010. She is survived by two sons; Troy Carpenter and his wife Barbara of Tuttle, Oklahoma and Jerry Carpenter and his wife Brenda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one daughter-in-law, Ruth Carpenter of Blanchard, Oklahoma, one sister Frances Faltermier and her husband Leroy of Gainesville, Texas, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Hollis Carpenter Sr., in June of 1979, one son Hollis Carpenter, Jr. on November 22, 2008, two sisters, one infant sister and Dorothy Jackson and two infant brothers. Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Roy Robertson and Rev. Larry Chesser officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Troy Carpenter Jr., Trey Reed, Daniel Carpenter, Jon Carpenter, Aaron Carpenter and Kendall Carpenter. Honorary bearers will be Austin Carpenter, Colby Reed, Caleb Reed, Gauge Carpenter, Jesse Carpenter, and Jordyn Carpenter.
