Longime Seminole resident, Iva Lois (Massey) Culver Poplin entered eternal life on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was 97 years old. On September 18, 1913 Lois was born to Doc H. and Ada Fannie (Hulsey) Massey in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Lois married William Gentry Culver on November 12, 1932 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, he preceded her in death on October 11, 1962. Lois later married George C. Poplin on August 21, 1965; he preceded her in death on April 20, 1979. Lois was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Seminole as well as a Pink Lady at Seminole Integris Hospital. Lois leaves to cherish her memory her son Jack Culver of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter-in-law, Jo Anna Culver of Seminole, Oklahoma; two step-children, Leroy and Billie Poplin Johnson; 29 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; on the Culver side two children; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William Culver, husband George Poplin, son Billy G. Culver, 5 step-children, Frank Poplin, Dana Poplin, G.C. Poplin, Jack Poplin and Gerald Poplin, three grandchildren as well as several siblings. A graveside service will be 11:00am, Monday, October 11, 2010 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma with Matt Pollock officiating. Honorary pallbearers are William Culver, Alan Culver, Christopher Culver, Ron Culver, Leroy Poplin and Jerry Pritchard.
