Lois Marie (Blackwell) Lester, age 93 and a resident of Asher, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11th at the First Baptist Church in Asher, Oklahoma, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Burial will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling, Oklahoma at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Dwayne Johnson and grandson, Grady Lester will officiate. Pallbearers are Grady Lester, Glen Lester, R.J. Duck, Mason Allen, Gary Allen, and Dudley Hornback. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. Lois was born on November 13, 1916, in Ringling, Oklahoma, to Joe W. Blackwell and Flora (Nell) Blackwell. She married Lewis Lester on March 20, 1937, in Grady, Oklahoma. She moved back to Asher, Oklahoma, from California in 1972, and she worked as a waitress. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asher, and she was a wonderful homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Bob Lester of Asher, Oklahoma; one daughter, Bonnie Allen Olive of Asher, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren, fifteen step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Flora Blackwell; her husband, Lewis Lester; one son, Wayne Lester; two sisters, Minnie Copeland and Zellar Davis; and one brother, Nual Blackwell.
