Services for former Seminole resident Loette Buckner will be held at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 2:00p.m. with Rev. Gary Wilburn and Tommy Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Garden, 500 S.W. 104th, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. rnrn rnrnLoette passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Illinois at the age of 93. She was born on December 15, 1914 in Five Points, Alabama to Helen Cleo (Trammell) and Simeon Durward Higgins. She married Sherman Buckner on July 15, 1938 in Altus, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death in 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was also a member of the Democratic Women Association and Self Culture Club. She retired in 1976 from Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she was a Hospital Personnel Officer. She moved to Seminole from Mangum in 1984 and lived in Seminole until 2005 when she moved to Illinois with daughter and son-in-law, Brynda and Willis.rnrnHer daughter, Brynda McCoy of East Alton, Il, and two sons survive her: Bruce Buckner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wayne Buckner of Sante Fe, New Mexico. She is also survived by her brother, A.C. Davis of Willow, Oklahoma as well as seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.rnrnShe is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Sherman Buckner.rnrnCasket bearers will be: Durward Higgins, Gary Vitosky, Bruce Buckner, Wayne Buckner, Willis McCoy and Damon McCoy.rnrnIn lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.rnrn Funeral Information: November 13, 2008, 2:00 AM
