Lloyd Perry “Sugar Bear” Martin, 67 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home. He was born March 18, 1952 in Talihina, Oklahoma to parents Toney Martin and Esther (Little) Martin. He was a high school graduate and had lived in Seminole county all his life. Sugar Bear was self employed as a Native American artist and craftsman. He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. He is survived by his son; Lance Martin of Manderson, South Dakota, his daughters; E’choHoktv’ Martin of Denver, Colorado and WinterStarr Polivka, his brothers; Robert Martin of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Scott Martin of Seminole, Oklahoma, sisters; Toni Martin-Tiger of Seminole, Oklahoma, Janie Godsoe Hand of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Tamara Martin of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Clarice Wise-Talamasy of Seminole, Oklahoma, over 50 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Nokose Scott Martin, brothers; Jack Melton, Ronald “Oogie” Melton and Tony Martin, Jr., sister; Mary Martin-Yearby and many other loved ones. Wake services will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Casket bearers will be Lance Martin, Tony C. Martin, Robert Martin, Jr., Randell Sam, Harlan Sam, Nate Martin, Miles Sam, James Tiger, Taurean Martin, Mekasi Horinek, Ken Camp, Nigel Popoola, Jon Henson, Artimus Melton and all other nephews and grandsons. Honorary bearers will be Robert Martin, Sr., Scott Martin, T. Ray Bighead, Merle Berryhill, Dean Lena, Craig Camp, Buck Camp, Mody Harjo, Carlos Castaneda, Sr., Dale Williams, Richard Whitman, Lil' Man Warledo and all other brothers.
