Lloyd Lindell Fisher

Lloyd Lindell Fishe r , age 90 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Rev. Ed Bray will officiate, and burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery with military honors.  Casket bearers are Brett Hill, Jaxon Hill, Cade Hill, Joe Semtner, Barry Streetman, and Donny Kiker.

Lloyd was born December 8, 1930 at his grandparents, Franklin and Belva Griffen’s home in Hazel, Oklahoma to Ovie Lee Fisher and Lillie Belle (Griffin) Fisher.  Lloyd attended first grade through the eighth grade at Hazel, Oklahoma, and he graduation from Konawa High School.  He joined the US Air Force and served for four years from 1951 through 1955 as Private First Class.  He married Geneva Berry December 1, 1968 at the Ideal Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.  He earned a Bachelor of Education from East Central University in Ada with his brother and sister in the same ceremony.  Lloyd spent the nearly fifty years as an oilfield pumper and a farmer.  He served fifty plus years on the Konawa Soil Conservation Board.

He is survived by one step-son, Randell Nunley of Enid, Oklahoma; one brother, Burnus L. Fisher and wife, Iris of Konawa; one sister, Martha Smith of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two step-grandchildren, Robbie and Randy Wayne Nunley; nieces, Lori Kiker and Kim Streetman; and nephew, Quinn Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother-in-law, Glen Smith.
