Linnie Mae Ellison, 90, longtime Seminole resident, died Friday, July 27, 2012 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Linnie was born May 22, 1922 in Hewitt, Oklahoma to Andrew Harrison and Loucil (Thaxton) Wood. Linnie was a homemaker and came to Seminole in 1946 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Linnie was preceded in death by her husband Fred Ellison on October 3, 2009, they were married October 14, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma where she was very active. She and her husband Fred a former Seminole Fire Department Captain, loved to travel and go camping in their RV. Linnie proudly served in the U.S. Army as a W.A.C. She was a sergeant and served from June 30, 1943 to December 15, 1945. One brother, JR Wood of Farmington, New Mexico, a sister Winnie Gibson of Arlington, Texas and several nieces and nephews survive her. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery. Matt Pollock will officiate at the funeral.
