Linda Kay (Colbert) Minner, 56 Linda Kay (Colbert) Minner was born on December 8, 1956 in Seminole, Oklahoma to the union of the late Earl and Pearlena Colbert. Linda confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Church of the Living God in Seminole, Oklahoma. Linda was a student at Seminole High School, where she happily joined and became a member of the Marching Band, Pep Club, and Black in Action Group, later on becoming part of the graduating class of 1976. Proceeding on with her college education, Linda was a student at Seminole State College, and there she received an Early Childhood Education Associates Degree. Broadening her education, she also attended UCO in Edmond, Oklahoma following with the attendance at ECU in Ada, Oklahoma. Linda gave birth to three children; one daughter, Erica Minner-Burnett, two sons; Brandon and Jonathan Minner. In her adult life, Linda gladly became apart and leader of the Girl Scout Group with whom her daughter had been member of. She was proudly active in the Seminole Elementary P.T.O., substituting classes for many years. Citizens, friends, and family of our community may have witnessed her beautiful smile and bright personality during her seven years of employment as lead cook and buffet preparer at Western Sizzlin Restaurant. The year 2000, Linda was united in a friendship relationship with Morris Thomas, who later on became her fiancé. They both committed their selves to one another, continuing their lives in Seminole, Oklahoma. Linda leaves behind a loving fiancé, Morris Thomas of Seminole, one, daughter, Erica Burnett and her husband Cody of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sons, Brandon Minner and his fiancé Lana Jones of Seminole, Oklahoma and Jonathan Minner of Seminole, Oklahoma; and a very special friend, Carlee Riggin of Seminole, Oklahoma. One sister, Edna Wilson of Seminole, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Deyton Jackson, Daisha Minner, D’Keja Minner, Destree Burnett and Dahlera Minner all of Seminole, Oklahoma. A host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, cousins, in-laws, friends and also she leaves behing a smile on everyone’s face that knew her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Pearlena Colbert; three brothers, James Colbert, Charles Colbert and William Colbert; one sister, Carolyn Smith. Linda’s journey was complete on Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Midwest City, Oklahoma when she passed away. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Ebenezer Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma with Bro. J.C. Simpson officiating.
