Linda Gail Johnson, 63 year old St. Louis, Missouri resident, passed from this life on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Arizona. She was born May 3, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents David Lee Johnson and Billie Jean (Poplin) Johnson. Following her high school graduation, Gail went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She then worked as an advertising creative writer for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. Gail then moved to St. Louis, Missouri to work as an advertising copy writer in the Check Mark division of Ralston Purina from which she retired. Gail served on the board of the Marfan Foundation, and has been a supporter of the University of Kansas alumni association. Survivors include her mother, Billie and her husband Austin Tipton of Bois D’Arc, Missouri; by one brother, Mark and his wife Alisa Johnson of Saratoga, California and their children, Jillian Johnson and Rebecca Johnson; two sisters, Jean and her husband Gary Rose of Los Gatos, California and their children, Matthew Rose and his wife Meghan Rose, Elizabeth Rose and Madeline Rose, Terri Johnson and Glenn Seppanen of Golden, Colorado; by one step-brother, Tom and his wife Kathy Tipton and their children Joshua Tipton and Jason Tipton all of Bois D’Arc, Missouri; by one step-sister, Belinda and her husband Charlie Slagle and their children, Stacey Slagle, Emily Slagle and Austin Slagle all of Bois D’Arc, Missouri; Gail is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Gail was preceded in death by her father, David L. Johnson; by her maternal grandparents, George C. Poplin and Sue Evelyn Poplin; by her paternal grandparents, Lewis Johnson and Delsa Johnson. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.
