Lillard Arthur Kerlin, 75, Bowlegs, Oklahoma resident died Friday, January 22, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lillard was born November 28, 1934 to Arthur and Annie (Pausman) Kerlin in Taylor, Texas. Lillard attended school in Thrall, Texas where he graduated from Thrall High School in 1954. He also served as a sergeant in the Texas National Guard. Lillard moved to the Seminole County area in 1999 from Texas after working 30 years for the Lubrizol Oil Refinery in Houston, Texas.  He was involved in all of the phases of the refinery process of oil, additives and gas treatment products. Lillard wanted to leave the larger cities and move to the country here in the Seminole area, where he enjoyed working on his land with his tractor. He loved gardening, flowers, and plants of all types. He was an avid fisherman, a cabinetmaker, rock collector, and being out in nature riding his 4-wheeler. Lillard was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bowlegs, Oklahoma and also attended the Community of Christ Church in Seminole. Lillard married Myrna (Day) Landsdown Kerlin on November 6, 2004 in Del City, Oklahoma, and she survives him of the home. His wife Myrna Kerlin of the home in Bowlegs, Oklahoma, survives Lillard. Two sons, Dwayne Kerlin and his wife Deanne of Taylor, Texas and Kevin Kerlin   Seminole, Oklahoma. One step son Larry Landsdown and his wife Vickie of Pink, Oklahoma. Two stepdaughters Linda Schneider and her husband John of Houston, Texas. Kerry Burrows and her husband Richard  of Bowlegs, Oklahoma. One sister Peggy Moerbe and her husband Calvin of Thrall, Texas. Seven grandchildren: Michael Schneider,  Patrick Schneider, Amber Kerlin, Jessica Brown and husband Brandon, Delaney Burrows, Dylan Burrows, Marie Bloemer, and two great-grandchildren: Zachery Schneider and Aaron Brown. Several nieces and nephews and other family members also survived him. Lillard was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Keith Allen Kerlin, the Mother of his children Maurene Wilde Kerlin and his wife of 36 years Betty Jo Kerlin. Services are scheduled For 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Little Cemetery. Rev. Freeman Whitlock will officiate the services assisted by Rev. Amanda Lockwood.
