Leonard Seckinger, longtime Konawa resident, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada at the age of 86.rnrnHe was born on January 21, 1921 in Vanoss, OK to John Benjamin Seckinger & Georgia Ann (Roberts) Seckinger. rnrnHe served in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate during World War II and received an honorable discharge on March 21, 1946. rnrnHe married Ora Loraine Vaughn and to this union five children were born. She preceded him in death in 1957. He later married Marggett Ellen Powell and they had two daughters. rnrnLeonard was a longtime Ada area resident before moving to Konawa in 1984. rnHe worked as a roofer most of his life. rnrnHe is survived by two sons, Marty Ray Seckinger of Konawa and Monty Joe Seckinger of Oakmond, OK; three daughters, Martha Seckinger and Brenda Sue Seckinger of Konawa and Shelia Ann Jones of Ardmore, OK; rnrnSeven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.rnrnHe was also preceded in death by his parents; children, Floyd Lynn Seckinger, Jimmy Don Seckinger and Linda Sharon Wall and nine brothers and sisters.rnrnFuneral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Pastor Pam Shirk officiating. rnrnServing as pall bearers will be Marty Ray Seckinger, Rick Holybee and Johnny Mackmiller.rnrnBurial with military honors will follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Byng, OK. rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
