Leona Mae Tiger

October 21, 1946 — December 18, 2011

Leona Mae Tiger, 65, passed away on December 18, 2011, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2011, with Rev. Bill Hobia officiating. Leona was born October 21, 1946, in Seminole, Oklahoma and known to all of us as Sugar. She is the daughter of Ella Mae Tanyan Tiger and William A. Tiger and the granddaughter of Wesley and Susie Ross Tanyan. She is also the great granddaughter of Hettie Harjo Larney and Chilley Ross and Nina and Sallie Davis Tanyan. Leona was a member of the Indian Nation Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. Leona was a member of the Ceyvha Band of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma. She loved her arts and crafts. Leona graduated from Varnum High School in 1967. She also attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma for Dry Cleaning in May 1973. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, half-brothers Clifford, Glen, Allen, and George Tiger, Jr., Boyd and William Jacob Tiger. She is survived by half-sisters Channa, Robin and Jimmie and half-brothers Charles E., George, Tony and Mark and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and visitations to Leona. Our hearts are very sad at this time because we will miss Sugar, but we know she is with our Creator and we are thankful for the time given to us. Mvto.
