Leon Williams

Leon Dale Williams, 74 Leon Dale Williams, life long Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed away at his home Monday, January 30, 2012 at the age 74. Leon was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on January 11, 1938 to parents, Elmer Newell Williams and Erma Mae (Marlow) Williams. Leon was a heavy equipment operator for Newman Construction for 20 years, he owned and operated Leon’s DX for three years and in 2000 he retired from Wrangler. Leon was of the Baptist faith and served as deacon at Harvey Road Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. At retirement, Leon started team roping with his son and grandson as their heeler. Leon, loved to give his grandchildren rides on the four-wheeler and his favorite time was family gatherings on holidays. Leon, married Joyce (Harris) Williams on April 21, 1956 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Leon is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home, one son, Leslie D. Williams and his wife Peggy Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma, one daughter, Sheila King and her husband Tim King of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Leon is also survived one sister, Laverne Lehman of Seminole, Oklahoma and by son-in-law, Elmer Duncan of Seminole. Leon is also survived by sister-in-law Billie Odor and her husband George Odor, grandchildren are, Brad and Tonya Duncan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Michael and Tiffany Duncan of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jason and Amber Duncan of Seminole, Oklahoma, Brandon King of Lexington, Oklahoma, Brandi and Jarrod Wells of Washington, Oklahoma, Ashley and Jason Fowler of Seminole, Oklahoma, Mitchell Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma, Stephanie Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma, Nicole Coym of Seminole, Oklahoma and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Erma Williams, two daughters, Toni Lynn Williams, Pam Duncan, two sisters, Delores Lovelace and Barbara Decker. Funeral service for Leon will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma. Serving at casket bearers are: Randy Lehman, Mitchell Williams, Brandon King, Mike Duncan, Brad Duncan and Jason Duncan.
