Leon Culley Harjo, 71 Leon Harjo former Seminole resident passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the age of 71 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Leon was born January 22, 1939 at Holdenville, Oklahoma to parents Benny and Effie Culley. Leon was a former police officer and also worked as a general labor at the Civic Center in Oklahoma City. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Effie Culley. Leon is survived by three sons, Larry Harjo of Moore, Oklahoma, Leon Harjo and Tommy Harjo both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Two daughters; Tina Harjo, of Moore, Oklahoma and Tywanna Harjo of Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by three brothers; Johnny Bighead, of Seminole, Oklahoma, Billy Hulbay and John Culley both of Kansas. One sister, Augustine Culley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, thirteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral to follow 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, 1001 N. Milt Phillips, Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery in Cromwell, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers: Larry Harjo, Leon J. Harjo, Tommy Harjo, Christopher Bandy, Tommy Ray Bighead and Matthew Bighead. Honorary casket bearers; T-Ray Bighead, Johnny Bighead, Jonathan Bighead, Joshua Harjo, Christopher Harjo and Zac Peaney.
