Leo Guinn

October 21, 1926 — December 6, 2016

Leo “ Red” Eugene Guinn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born in Maud, Oklahoma on October 21, 1926 to Wiley and Ethel (Mitchell) Guinn. He married Mary May ( Jensen) Guinn on December 1, 1949. During their life together they lived in six states and Venezuela. He and Mary traveled extensively visiting 47 of the 50 states. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling wherever his trailer could go. He was a veteran of WWII where he served as a “Seabee” in the United States Navy. He started employment with Halliburton Oilwell Cementing Company on January 25, 1950 and retired to Maud, Oklahoma in October of 1976. Mr. Guinn is survived by his daughter Neatha Kay and Joseph Johnston of Salt Lake City, Utah, his three sons, Nathan E. and Mary Guinn of Konawa, Oklahoma, Jimmy Ray and Colleen Guinn of Vernal, Utah and Robert Charles and Anna Guinn of Vernal, Utah, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary May and a brother Jack Guinn. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 47943 Abbey Road, Konawa, Oklahoma 74849, with Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. Viewing will take place Saturday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. in the church vestibule. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
