Longtime Maud resident, Lemual Roy Hale went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the age of 88. rnrnHe was born on February 18, 1919 in Hazel, Oklahoma the ninth child born to Lee Roy and Amanda Ella (Layton) Hale. He moved with his family to Maud in 1924 at the age of 5.rnrnLemual married Rachel (Taylor) Hale on September 21, 1940 in Maud, Oklahoma, to this union three sons were born.rnrnHe served in the United States Army during WWII. He served with the 456th Combat Engineering regiment, out of company of 158 service personnel he was one of only 32 to return home after the war. He earned the rank of Corporal.rnrnHe worked on pipeline construction as a heavy equipment operator for 24 years, which took the family through 42 states. He later worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, which he retired from in 1979.rnrnHe is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Freddie Roy Hale, April 28, 1983 and James Lee Hale, July 22, 1951 and six brothers and two sisters.rnrnHe is survived by his wife Rachel Hale of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Vera Hale of Eufaula. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Donald Leroy Hale of Maud, Oklahoma, Tina Renae Hale Smith and husband Roger of Maud, Oklahoma, Terry Jay Hale and wife Cora of Seminole, Oklahoma, Neal Allen Hale and his wife Kerri of Owasso, Oklahoma as well as four great grandchildren: Mackenzie Taylor Hale, Ashley Megan Hale, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Amanda Kelly-Marie Smith of Maud, Oklahoma and Tyler J. Hale of Seminole, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephewsrn rnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the East Oak Church of God with a burial to follow at Cummings Cemetery, with pastor Hershal Davis officiating, assisted by Brother Leroy Kerbo.rnrnPallbearers will be Donald L.
