Leldon Dale King

Leldon Dale King, age 77, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1947. Leldon was a loving father, dedicated educator, and an avid fly fisherman with a deep love for the natural beauty of Alaska and the Roaring River.

A proud alumnus of Central State University, Leldon earned his degree in Chemistry. He went on to share his passion for science as a Chemistry Instructor at the University of Arkansas, where he inspired many students with his knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject.

Outside of his professional life, Leldon was known for his adventurous spirit, particularly his love for fly fishing. He spent countless hours in the pristine wilderness of Alaska and cherished his time along the Roaring River, where he found peace and solace in nature.

Leldon was preceded in death by his father Leldon Clark King and his mother Oleta Elizabeth King. 

Leldon is survived by his sister, Earline Sheff; his daughter, Kimberly Dawn Hagerdon (Robert); his son, Leldon Dale King II (Ashley); stepsons, Jason Spickes and Kim and Justin Spickes and Kim; and his cherished grandchildren, Kylie Elizabeth Forst, Abby Jo Hagerdon, Caleb Christopher Hagerdon, Amanda Dianne Graves, Benjamin Fletcher King, Aynslee Sophia King, Leldon Parker King, Austin Spickes, Melanie Spickes, Tyler Spickes and Emily Black.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Caleb Hagerdon, Parker King, Benjamin King, Austin Spickes, Justin Spickes and Jason Spickes. 

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 20 at 11:00am at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington Memory Gardens located at 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., OKC, OK 73141.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Wounded Warriors in Leldon’s memory.

Leldon’s love for life, his students, and the outdoors will be greatly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
