Legus Clark, 71 year-old lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Saturday, January 4, 2009 in Ada, Oklahoma. He was born January 28, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Wesley Clark and Lucy (Tiger) Clark.rnrnLegus attended Carr City School and Pleasant Grove High School in Seminole County before he entered the United States Navy on the battle ship the U.S.S. Noble from 1959 through 1963. Legus pursued an education and vocation in printing at the Haskell Institute for two years. After graduation he worked as a printer for 20 years in various States including Colorado, California, Texas and Oklahoma. He went on to work for the Seminole Nation in many different capacities, he retired from the Seminole Nation where her received the CHR of the year and CHR of the year at the State Conference twice, he the worked for the Seminole Nation Dialysis Center as well as the Elder Program at the Seminole Nation. Legus was currently working for the Seminole County Court House.rnrnLegus was a member of the Tallahassee Presbyterian Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 15 years. Legus was also a deacon and a Bi-Lingual member.rnrnLegus was also a representative for the Eufaula Band and served as Secretary for many years.rnrnAttending sporting events to support the young people he knew was one of Legus? favorite past times. He also enjoyed working in the yard and keeping busy.rnrnAlthough Legus never married he touched many lives and loved his family dearly. His survivors include three loving sisters, Rosetta Pebworth of Seminole, Oklahoma, Agnes Nero of Seminole, Oklahoma and Ina Mae Queton of Crowley, Texas. Legus also helped his sister Rosetta raise her children, Shane Pebworth of Seminole, Oklahoma, Wayne Pebworth of Seminole, Oklahoma and Nicole ?Nikki? Pebworth Chamberlain of Vinita, Oklahoma. Each of these children he helped raised also had children their names are, Wesley, Justin, Thunder and Ky Pebworth, Nash and Kamry Chamberlain.rnrnLegus is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.rnrnFuneral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church (located at 910 W. Wrangler Blvd.) in Seminole. Dr. Gene Wilson and Rev. Rick Harjo will officiate the service.
