Leah (Wood) Emarthle, age 88 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. A Wake service is scheduled for Wednesday night, July 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25th at Cold Springs Baptist Church of Konawa. Burial will follow at the Wilson Family Cemetery. Rev. Frank Harjo will officiate. Pallbearers are Jared Johnson, Jeremy Alberson, Mike Johnson, Jeremy Jones, Eddie Cecil, and Chad Cecil. Leah was born on August 8, 1924 in Wolf, Oklahoma to Walter R. Wood and Munnah (Wilson) Wood. After graduation, Leah worked as an LPN and retired from IHS in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She married Rev. Homer Emarthle, who preceded her in death. She was a cherished member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Everett Wood of Talihina, Oklahoma; one brother, Dick Wood of Neches, Texas; two sisters, Molly Wood of Heavener, Oklahoma and Minnie Pierce of Maud, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Munnah Wood; her husband, Rev. Homer Emarthle; one sister, Christine McMahan; and one brother, Ben Brown.
