LaWanna Louise (Bess) Lowry, lifelong Konawa area resident, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007, at her residence in Konawa at the age of 77.rnrnShe was born November 12, 1930 in Medicine Lodge, KS to Ivy Napoleon & Edith Celeste (McCarver) Bess.rnrnLaWanna married Donald A. "Tony" Lowry on February 14, 1964 in Seminole, OK.rnThey owned & operated the Dixie Store in Konawa for several years and she was also a Beautician for many years.rnrnShe was a member of the Konawa Assembly of God. rnrnShe is survived by her husband Tony Lowry of the home;rnrnfour daughters, Gwen Walton of Irving, TX, Cecelia Huddleston of Broken Arrow, OK, LaQuita Fallis of DeQueen, AR and Tonya Born of Konawa; rnrnfive grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.rnrnShe was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Darla Lowry and one brother, Kenneth Bess. rnrnFuneral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Konawa Assembly of God with Rev. Steve Lowrance & Rev. Mitch Williams officiating. rnrnServing as casket bearers will be Harold Glover, Edward Maxwell, Roy Hicks, Tommy Sexton, E.E.
