Larry Scott Shelton, 47 year-old, longtime Seminole County resident passed from this life Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Seminole Medical Center following a motorcycle accident. He was born August 3, 1962 in Oklahoma City to parents Bobby Shelton and Christine (Hawkins) Shelton. Larry graduated from Strothers High School. He later married Melissa Graves on February 5, 2001 in Cancun. Larry was currently working as the service manager at United Motors in Seminole. He had also worked for Gibbs-Stalling in Holdenville and Seminole Ford. Larry was a member of the Seminole First Baptist Church. He enjoyed race cars, riding motorcycles and he was an avid Dale Earnhart Sr. and Jr. fan. Larry took pride in his work and the cars that he worked on. Survivors include his father Bobby Shelton and his wife Betty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his wife of nine years Melissa (Graves) Shelton of the home; two sons, Chris Shelton and his wife Victoria Pereyra Shelton of Seminole and Kyle Shelton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jackie Shelton of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Scotlyn Analis Shelton of the home; one sister, Courtney Wyrick and her husband Mark of Seminole, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Doris Graves and her husband Jerry Graves of Waldren, Arkansas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Rhonda Graves of Waldren, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Serinady Maleene Shelton, Blaiden Shane Shelton, Alexis Marie Shelton, Aaliyah Harmony Shelton, Zachariah Xavier Shelton and Austine Zapone; three nephews and one niece and a host of other family and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Christine Shelton; one brother, Dale Austin Shelton; and one infant brother, Martin Lynn Shelton. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Seminole First Baptist Church located at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma. Russell Vicars will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole. Casket Bearers will be; Bo Woodruff, Richard Dillon, Mark Echelle, Anthony Davidson, Tracy Sherfield, Rick Sullinger, David Brown and Beau Lindsey. Honorary Casket Bearers will be; his motorcycle riding buddies. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
