Larry Self

Larry D. Self, 63 year-old, lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his home.  He was born February 5, 1948 along with his twin brother, Jerry in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Leonard Clifford Self and Jane Ellen (Myers) Self. Larry graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1966 then worked in the oilfield most of his life.  Larry loved to hunt, fish, ride his Harley Davison motorcycle but most of all he loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Clinton D. “C.D.” Self and his wife Sierra of Prague, Oklahoma; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Hershel Self and his wife Billie of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, and his twin brother, Jerry Self of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Bryant and her husband Don of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, Kellean Kerr and her husband Archie of Norman, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Stacey Self, Christian Self, Kyle Self and Kallie Self; Larry is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends. Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Ellen Self; by his father, Leonard Clifford Self; two brothers, Clifford Self and an infant brother Leonard Self. The family will receive friends at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Randall Miller officiating the service.
