LaRome L.A. Winrow

LaRome Demont “L.A.” Winrow, 37, was called home to be with God on October 28, 2010 at OU Medical Center.  He was born on December 2, 1972 in Seminole Oklahoma.  He was the first child of Ginger Winrow.  He was baptized at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. “L.A.” as he was known graduated from Seminole High School in 1991.  There he received many awards in football.  In his senior year, he received four player of the week awards, prep player of the year award and All District Offensive Player of the year. L.A. moved to Florida and worked at a Polo outlet store for seven years.  Then he was transferred to Colorado where he worked for Polo until his failing health caused him to leave his job. L.A. was preceded in death by his grandparents; Doretha Winrow, Marcell Jackson, Sr. and Ethel Jackson; Aunts Patricia Vanessa Washington and Johnnie Foxx. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Ginger Winrow of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Tara Winrow of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, brother Jamaal Walker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nieces, Ausha and Ashanti Baker both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephew, Aerrington Baker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandfather, Roy Winrow, Sr. of Seminole, Oklahoma; great-grandmother, Beaulah Winrow of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; spiritual grandmother, Thelma Reese; Cousins, Ebony Harris and Tanisha Washington; his running buddies, Missy, Eddie, Alvin Jr., Myron, Rion, and Michael Bradshaw; his dad, Marcell Jackson, Jr. of Kansas; five brothers and two sisters; a very special aunt, Jackie Helem; cousins, Ray-Ray, Stephanie and Senae; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will always have L.A. in their hearts. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00, Noon on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church located at 420 Reid Street, Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. J.C. Simpson officiating.  Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Casket Bearers will be: Mark Reese, Eddie Louie, Alvin Fabre Jr., Myron Louie and Rion Louie. Honorary Bearers will be: Roy Winrow Jr., Randy Winrow, Nathaniel Winrow, Michael Winrow, Roy Winrow III., and Chad Anderson. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
