LaQuita Ann (Robertson) Huckleberry , age 83 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away September 17, 2021 under the loving care of Crossroads Hospice at her daughter’s home in Meeker, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the PAC Building located at the Konawa High School Auditorium under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Bruce Sanders, Pastor of Vamoosa Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Casket bearers are Chad Huckleberry, Preston Dye, Mason Dye, Thomas Townley, Chase Townley, D. J. Huckleberry, Josh Huckleberry, and Jim Tatum.
LaQuita was born April 26, 1938 in Dora, Oklahoma to Alfred Wesley Robertson and Nettie Lee (Goss) Robertson. She received her Master’s Degree and became the Elementary Principal for Vamoosa and later for Konawa school systems. LaQuita was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church, and she loved quilting, traveling, teaching children, and playing dominoes with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Huckleberry and Chad Huckleberry, both of Konawa; four daughters, Charla Cash of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Cheryl Kastl and husband, John of Meeker, Karen Huckleberry of Shawnee, and Liz Dye and husband, Damon of Silo, Oklahoma; one brother, Keith Robertson and wife, Yvonne of Okemah, Oklahoma; one sister, Jerry Lemmings and husband, Ronnie of Konawa; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Herman, Alfred Jr., Arnold, and Dick Robertson; and two sisters, Dean Walls, and Billie Collins.
